And YES, i'll be posting a prediction thread every update for a multitude of reasons:

1. to boost hype

2. to make someone say that this will delay the update, thus tempting fate to prove him wrong, in order to get the update sooner

3. to summarize the update

I suspect that 1.0 will actually come much sooner than 4 years from now. 0.25 doesn't mean 25% done, it just means the 25th alpha, out of an indeterminate number (I suspect that even Harvester doesn't truly know how many) of alphas, betas, and RCs prior to 1.0 release. There's still plenty of stuff to add and sort out before 1.0, but it might be beneficial to produce a solid 1.0 release sooner rather than later, once the basic core game is feature complete, then moving to a more mature development phase where there would be a stable release version and a development version to add enhancements beyond the basic core game.

My guess would be 1.0 in 1-2 years, 1.1 3-6 months after that, 2.0 maybe 1-2 years after 1.x is convincingly "done" (or 3-6 months after the next major Unity release).
