Replica SSTO flight issues.

Recommended Posts

 Why? Why can't anything go right? How hard is it to have a cool looking SSTO? I have been trying to get the original craft file of EE's fighter, but old B9 save breaking BS has kept me from loading it. And it's only three errored parts, the lights an landing gear. I tried to delete the offending parts, but it broke the SPH. So I had to make a new save. I built a replica with BD Armory, B9, and KSPI, but it does not fly well at all. It goes into a flat spin, and has a tendency to pitch down.

It has a tendency to pitch down because the CoM is below the CoL. Either raise your centre of mass, or drop your centre of lift.

You're also going to want to make sure your CoT is in line as well, since having that off centre is going to cause problems, too.

Hard to tell, it may just be the angle, but is the CoM slightly left of centre? Are one of your payloads on the left wing markedly heavier than the right?

edit: Also your CoL tilts ever so slightly forward, further compounding the downward pitching you mentioned.

I FIXED IT! Thank you!
