Does anything in a cargobay lose all of its drag?

Recommended Posts

So I heard something about cargo bays working so that anything inside of them has no drag. Is this true?

It might depend on the specific cargo bay part (mod).

Generally speaking, the answer is "no" in the current stock game version, as drag is calculated by a very simplistic model.

The anser is generally "yes" if you have the Ferram Aerospace mod installed.

I'm certain what you are referring to is a result of Maxmaps posting a tweet that the new cargo bay would be able to house parts inside and would shield the drag (stock parts with stock aerodynamics). As worir4 said, Max later followed it up with another tweet saying that it's not going to be in 0.25. So we have to wait until at least 0.26 (or maybe later) before we see this.

Thanks for the Info! Its a bit of a shame that this was not implemented yet, I was hoping to see if I could make a near zero drag Eve SSTO craft. I also Have no clue on how to make this post answered or on how I might delete it

so any help with that would be much appreciated!
