KSP cuts off before main menu

Since yesterday evening I have been unable to play KSP. What keeps on occurring is that the program runs to the end of the first load at which point before I can get to start new game, load game and so forth the application immediately closes without warning or error message. Looking back in the steam folder here is the start of the error report.

At this point I have

. Deleted and reinstalled settings

. Deleted local content and re-installed through steam

. Restarted computer

I have a 32 Bit, Windows 8.1 CPU with 4G Ram and a GTX 260 Video card. Until yesterday I was able to play the game with occasional crashes.

Yeah, this seems to be going around. I think with the new parts, KSP is pushing memory limits. Edit your settings.cfg file and change the texture quality line to read TEXTURE_QUALITY = 1 (or even try 2 or 3). Then restart the game.
