Remote Tech doesn't seem to be working?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

New to KSP Here and trying to get the remotetech add on working. I'm running the latest version of KSP and have downloaded the latest version of remotetech which says it should be compatible?

I have moved the RemoteTech and ModuleManager.2.5.0.dll file into the GameData directory but with no luck. The Mechjeb2 add on is working OK.

The reason why I don't believe RemoteTech is working is that their is no signal strength meter in the top left and their is no option to activate any of the communications devices.

Can anyone offer any assistance?

Thanks,

Craig

Please give more information.

1. Is your rocket in space or still on the start ramp?

2. Does it have a manned command module or a probe core with or without a SPU?

3. Does it have an antenna?

4. Is it within antenna range to the space center or another part of your communication network?

5. Are there planets or moons which block the signal?

Hi,

The probe is in space, a stable orbit around Kerbin, it has a probe core (Stayputnik Mk.1) - its got the basic antenna that you have at the start.

I have rechecked and noticed that I do have some of the additional parts that come with RemoteTech2 - however I don't get the options to activate the antenna's and I can still control a probe in orbit without an antenna. I also don't get the computer options to perform maneuvers.

This could be a bigger problem, I have noticed that although Mechjeb seems to work fine (module is there etc) - I don't get the option on the right hand side to bring up the Mechjeb options. I have tried this in a new sandbox mode. I have also tried to disable AV etc.

I am not running the full installer though, instead just downloading and unpacking the folder to run from there? would that make a difference?

Thanks,

Craig

I don't know what you mean. What installer?

Are you sure you put the contents of the RemoteTech-zip in the right folder?

Please post your <KSP_dir>\KSP_Data\output_log.txt and upload a screenshot of your satellite with visible height and ressources panel.

Hi,

Sorry by installer I meant for KSP - when you go to download it gives you an option of just downloading the zip or there is an installer option.

I have managed to fix the problem though posted it earlier but think it came onto the forum after you replied as my posts need to be approved by a mod as I am new to the forum

:)

Thanks for you help.
