Rush Tour of KSC

My first challenge and this shows off all the great work that has been accomplished by SQUAD; my first choice for a vacation hotspot would be the KSC or similar space centre. Until recently I was just ignoring the KSC.

All stock, vanilla mode 0.25 . You get limited parts, Jeb as your tour guide and you will visit all the old (Launchpad) and new POI's (such as the Crawlerway) around the Kerbal Space Centre. Jeb is of course due for a flight physical examination and has a little bit of tummy. Time for some spinning, sprinting, jumping and pod pushing.

Rules:

Get it all done (quickest time will then be considered) or as many POI's in three or less launches. Start at dawn. Finish before dusk.

Make a new save file in career and add some science to expand tech tree for the TR-18A. Wait until tomorrow for the tour to start. Dawn is at 4:00 in the mornig. Probably want to save it again as a starting point. Watch out for the peril after dusk and back inside the quonset hut. Its a three hour tour. Yes. A three hour tour.

Parts recovered from flight can be used in the next launch. If for some reason the part survives the flight and is not recovered either from the tracking centre or the post flight recovery log, you still can not use it. Destroyed is destroyed. But is it a glitch or a feature? Decide for yourself. Stack Decouplers once staged are considered destroyed and are off the table. Takes too long to replace the expensive propellant and sticky tape.

There will be extra parts added after each recovery.

Your choice for the launch sites. Rocket exhaust pointed onto the runway might set it ablaze (you know about the concrete right). Instead use the rocket pad and don't be a badS kerbal.

Use time acceleration at any time. Waiting or even when sprinting is helpful, but, not so while trying to podpush it screws up the physics and then seems to move slower.

1 Command Pod Mk-1

1 RT-10 only 43 units of fuel (must be staged at first launch)

3 Modular Girder Segments

1 Mk 16 Parachute

Part List Launch 2 :

any parts that survive launch 1

you can use the empty RT-10 if you want to

maybe thats a hint, or, maybe thats a red herring

1 additional Command Pod Mk-1

1 RT-10 only 43 units of fuel

2 TR-18A Stack Decouplers

15 min penalty for vehicle reassembly, really the team needs 5, but, Jeb's a huffin and a puffin, trying to breathe.

Part List Launch 3

any leftover parts that survive launch 1 or 2

1 additional Command Pod Mk-1

2 additional kerbals (can be used while waiting for Jeb eg. launch vehicle and have the crew exit)

incur 25 min penalty :0.0: Jeb has to catch his breath again. So its only 5 minutes waiting then on to the launchpad.

Jeb is the only trained pilot so the others can still operate but not fly

Scoring:

POI Points:

EVA reports = 1 point

Surface Samples = 1 point

Crew reports = 3 points

Flags = 0 (Flags are a pain and waste time but how else can you can show off)

Destroyed Parts Penalty:

Command Pod = -50 points

Mk16 Parachute = -25 points

RT-10 = -15 points

TR-18A = -5 points

Girder = -1 points

Destroy any building/kerbal = Fail

Post as:

Total POI Points / Time in hh:mm

Example: Launchpad was as far as you made it and then made a run for the beach.

Do not post any screenshots of the POI's (maybe later on when these POI's are more well known probably after update 0.26 ) just use the kerbal honour system. Try to resist wiki or other easter eggs info.

Oh and why before night time? After sunset is when all of the spooky ungreen walk the grounds. The spooky deadly ungreen prefer large tasty engineer type brains (because they're chock full of electrolytes).

Thinking that my experiance should easily pull me through this and finish it. Hah. My first time results:

Alpha launch went crappy 9 POI's with all 5 points, minus 17 points lost parts = 28/1:35 Beta launch result FAIL. Game over

Hints:

30 sites to see, 150 possible points.

Remove monopropellant.

Don't exhaust battery while still inside Pod and have the hatch obstructed.

Grass has more friction than pavement.

Alpha launch picked off 9 POI with EVA/Smpl/Crew in 1:15. Lost RT-10 and 2 girders
