Can't save in space center view

Hi everyone,

I have one problem with my KPS, i have the latest version in steam installed, I think it is 0.24 (and not 0.25 cause steam didn't say me about a new update). Well, the problem right now it's that I can make and F9 save (quicksaving), but I can't go to the space center, and make a new save game with a name. When I try it did not say anything in the screen that is saving, and when I try to load didn't appears the new save game. Few days before I can do it.

I thought that can be a memory problem with all of the savegame that I have,... I erase some of them, but still having the problem... Don't know how to save right now, only using the F9.

Latest try I copied the KPS folder (all) in an other PC with the same steam account, but still can't save in the game. Do anyone knows anything about this problem? I searched on the forum but didn't found this problem...

It is unclear to me how you are trying to save while at KSC. F9 and ALT+F9 does not work in the space center. You need to either press ESCAPE or click the exit button in the bottom right. That will bring up a menu that you can save from.

If that's what you are doing, then please upload a log file so we can see if there are other errors. Sometimes errors will cause problems when saving.

I'm very bad with the explanations. I have no problems to save with quicksaving (F5 and F9), but when I go to the KSC, and try to save with the other way: Press ESC, Push save game, insert the name. There's no appears any text saying is saving, and when i push Load game the name introduced isn't appears.

I didn't try the ALT+F9 before, it's new for me, I will prove today.

How I can extract a report log of that?

Note that you can only load custom named saves in the ESC menu in the space center view *after* loading the general save. Custom save names don't change the save names in the main menu.

Think of it like that: Load a save game in the main menu is like loading a universe. Once the universe is loaded you can then load an alternative timeline in the ESC menu.

In the KSC screen, you will not see text saying it is saving.

I'm going to make a guess that you do not have a standard keyboard. KSP has problems saving file names with certain characters. If you are using non-english type characters, the save may be failing. Try giving it a simple name like "abc" and see if it works. I think someone before said they were using Cyrillic and KSP was not able to save. It also has problems with certain symbol characters, although I don't remember which off hand.

hi again,

I usually to put names like "mun mission", etc... But still have the problem. Anyway, I tried to take some screencaptures, but when I minimize the windows of KSP and comeback (maximize) IT GOES OK!!, I tried some times, and now it goes correctly few minutes. Passing one or two minutes have again the problem, I'm trying to catch when it faults, and what I have to do for work again and I will report to you for know it is a bug, or problem from my PC.

Let me few days to play the game normally and diagnose where can be the problem!

I think that can exist when one save game it's called like a vessel name.

Thank you *Aqua*, I have noticed about that, I can't load any saved game on Main menu, I can load a "universe" as you say saved with a name, and inside it every save game that I made. But the problem is not on the Main Menú, is on the KSC screen with save game (time line, as you say).

Does your language include letters which are not in the English alphabet (read Claw's post)?

Is your KSP install in C:\Program Files\? If yes please copy & paste it somewhere else. The Program Files directory is secured by Windows which can cause problems similar to yours.

And we still need your log files.

Yes, is on Program Files, but in a "Special" Program Files. I move this folder before to make a format C:, on an other Windows Version, Right now this is not the actual Program Files used by my actual OS, but maybe still have the same security and user rights. And I have to remark that I'm using Steam version (0.24), not the actual version (0.25).

About my keyboard, yes it have a non English alphabet letters, but I never put any special letter like ñ, or ò. Always save on english language as I told before ("mun mission").

Thanks for help, I will send you the log files as early as possible when appears again the problem, and try to say when it happens, and what I have to do to solve it.

If you "moved" the folder out of a place like program files or off the desktop, then I highly recommend that you "copy" the folder and try to run from the copied folder.

Windows DEP is smart enough to know when you're trying to trick it. This seems to be a bigger problem in 0.25 than in the past. So if it was in one of those places and you moved it, then try to copy.

After you type the name for the save, are you clicking "save" or hitting enter? I find that if I hit enter it does not save, whereas if I click "save", it does.

Yes it's the same situation, if I click Enter don't save, but if I click "Save", then save.

I don't know then if it's a bug or not, but it seems like is the problem that I found.
