Block-II Anti-Satellite Missile

Recommended Posts

As i\'ve been playing 0.14 more, i\'ve built up a nice amount of space debris around Kerbin. This got me thinking, if there was a way to destroy some of it using conventional methods.

Previously I had read about ASAT (anti-satellite) Missiles that use a kinetic payload to ram into low-orbiting satellites, destroying them in the process.

A quick google came up with the US-designed Block missile system:

Haven\'t managed to hit anything yet, still trying to figure out how to calculate an intercept trajectory. Objects with a closing speed of >5km/s leaves little margin for error.

Thinking if there is any way to create a automatic guidance system in the form of a plugin and an attachable part, with the ability to target an object and calculate the impact trajectory. One day...

Sounds really cool :D I still have not seen my rockets in space yet tho even when it shows they are :P the only point why im doing that is to make 5 HUGE satillites with guns on them(That shoot) And than deploy all of them, head for the other satillites and have war :D
