How to merge 2 saves together as one?

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to fuse 2 or more saves into one file (craft saves are not the issue). I want to have the multiple saves that have crafts landed and all that but I want to add some OTHER crafts from other saves so that I can have one massive save rather than 900+ with each having one small achievement whereas I could have 1 with all of them...

It may be impossible without having to ask someone to do this for me... unless a mod exists, which I am unaware of...

So- any ideas?

In the persistence file there are headings called "VESSEL" Everything within the brackets below that represents 1 craft in the world (docked = 1 craft). So you could just copy and paste if you are careful. Make backups.

You should see something like this

VESSEL
{

}

Copy that and everything inside the brackets into the other file near the other craft entries in it (but not inside them!)

I'm not brave enough to try this... I've got a lot of debris in there... I don't want THAT in my save too...

Also- I simply don't want to put my save at risk because I've had bugs that basically break the game...

You don't have to copy them all, just copy the one with the right name. That is the only way. As far as putting your save at risk, just make backup copies as I said. Put copies away where you won't be editing them and if it goes badly, copy it back (FYI, that is basically what quicksave does)

If that's the only way... then I must try.

That's what backups are for
