[Part Request] Some Form of Cargo Docking for Aircraft

Basically I'm looking for some kind of docking system that basically allws say a rover to drive over a particular part and for that part to dock to a part on the rover. similar to how infinite dices old aircraft docking system used to work. where you would have a slot and a notch and one would dock to the other. this method worked fine for cargo hauling in in atmosphere spaceplanes as well and was an absoloutely wonderful method however since they switched to the new form where the aircraft wheels are the dock now. I seem to be out of luck. If there is anybody who knows of an obscure mod or knows of a soloution for my problem. thank you for your time.

Can't use CDP Jr's, maybe combined with IR pistons or hinges to make a sort of retractable docking clamp?

actually that'd be a nice part to have... I'll add it to my to do list. extending 0.625 docking port surface attach.

maybe somthing that mounts underneath??

or like two radial docking ports that are small and can be used to secure cargo?

it'd be surface attach. you can stick it anywhere. mount it on the underside of the rover, drive over a docking port jr. extend yours and dock. tough part is getting the distance correct... might be able to use FS module to get some flexibility

I don't know if it'll actually work. But at least you can get an extendable docking port jr that can attach anywhere. we'll see soon enough.

only going to be a extendable 0.625m docking port. my plan of using FS' VTOl rotator to adjust the didn't work out.
