Can't get SPP wing connector to show as part of an assembly of parts.

For .25 the old wing connector used to fill the center is no longer there, I want to use the SPP part model = SPP/Wings/connector1 but it does not appear anywhere, not in the inventory icon nor when selected and placed in the VAB. The assembly looks just like the wall version which is supposed to have the big hole.
