Stage Light Stuck on Purple, Space Bar Does Nothing

Recommended Posts

I follow the first tutorial for a simple rocket: control module, fuel tank, engine. The tutorial seems satisfied. I take it out onto the launch pad, press the space bar, and . . . nothing. The space bar does nothing.

The rest of the game works fine, as far as I can tell. I can start the engine manually, by right-clicking on it. But I can't do much activating individual components.

Hmm. I don't know if this is something due to the tutorial that isn't letting you launch it.

Try pressing MOD+L (ALT+L if you're using windows). See if that unlocks it for you.

This problem isn't just in the tutorial. I just used that as an example to clarify that there are no design issues. I've tried alt-L, and it doesn't seem to do anything.

The only strange thing I did was to remap some of the keys, to move WASD over to the keypad. Maybe that's the problem, but there's no option to reset the keys to defaults.

Stage light showing purple indicates that the stage has been locked, which is why the space bar isn't doing anything. Normally you would lock and unlock a stage using ALT-L as stated by Claw, but if you have re-mapped your keys it looks as if you may have locked it by accident.

On Linux, the MOD-Key by default is mapped to the right Shift key, so it would be RShift+L in that case. Also make sure that time warp is off. It happened to me several times that I left it on 5x by accident and then wondered why the controls aren't working.

In case you are using Remote Tech: The stage light also goes purple if you have no radio signal.
