Fraps and KSP at Night.

Does anyone find that recording at night (in-game) produces VERY dark footage with Fraps? Trying to improve my videos in this regard but the main issue seems to be the initial output of my video. It always comes out much darker than it is on my screen while recording, however I see no issues with daytime recording. Anyone have any ideas?

I record with Fraps, and I don't really see a difference between the recorded footage and what I see in-game. For instance: This Episode of my Let's Play starts off on a night view of KSC:

Same goes for in-orbit night etc.

I did notice that other YouTubers have almost black screens during night though. I watched 4KBshorts latest video today, for instance, and it literally is pitch black during the night. I don't know what I do differently, though.

Ambient Light Ajustment is definitely a great mod, though. I started using it a while ago, and it really makes night videos less exhausting to watch. It should be a great way to improve your footage.

I have an idea if no one else made this suggestion... dump FRAPS and pick up Dxtory instead. FRAPS "was" a great program years ago. It still get the job done, but in my opinion, there is far superior software out there. Besides the darkness, I've had problems with fraps including but not limited to dark colors being washed out, framerate issues, and audio/video syncing problems. I would recommend if you want to record gaming footage pick up "Dxtory" here:

It's about $33.00 bucks in USD. Cheap and is MUCH more sufficient/advanced for recording video games. It's pocket change. Pick it up, great program.
