Interstellar Mod and Invisible Parts

Recommended Posts

**SOLVED**

I've been playing KSP for quite some time with some minor mods, but today I tried to give Interstellar a try (mostly for the aluminum oxide rockets and resource gathering on the mun). It's causing some problems for me in the VAB, and I need a little Kerban help getting things "circularized." ;)

First things first, here's my install:

* KSP x86_64 0.25.0 from Steam

* Linux, although I don't think that matters in the slightest

* Preexisting mods (sorry for the names, I have to go from the GameData/ directory names):

* Environmental Visual Enhancements

* Kerbal Attachment System

* Kerbal Alarm Clock

* Cool Rockets

* MP_Nazari (??? no idea)

* NASAmission (standard?)

* NavyFish (??? no idead)

* ORSResourcePack

* Procedural Fairings

* SmokeScreen

Basically, the problem is that many of the models are not loading in the VAB. It seems like the propulsion items are affected the most. From the menu, they appear as blank squares. Here's what they look like on one of my existing spacecraft. Note how the invisible engines always appear ignited.

The VAB actually connects these invisible parts correctly, and when I go to attach the next piece, the green connection points appear and work as they should. If I try to launch the spacecraft from the second screenshot, the invisible parts vanish on the launch pad, and the whole thing collapses and explodes.

At first, I thought maybe this was one of the pitfalls of switching mid-career to the Interstellar parts tree, so I started a new career. Unfortunately, it has the exact same problem with a new career mode.

I've never had any trouble with mods before, so I'm sort of left scratching my head trying to diagnose what's happening.

I've gone through KSP.log, which is also attached in its entirety, and found that some textures and parts are failing to load. Here are some examples:

[LOG 00:01:07.520] PartLoader: Compiling Part 'NASAmission/Parts/Size2LFB/part/Size2LFB'

1) How can I fix it so Interstellar works?

2) Even after clearing out GameData/OpenResourceSystem, GameData/TreeLoader, and GameData/WarpPlugin, the models are still missing. I can't seen to figure out how to remove Interstellar and get things working w/o Interstellar. If #1 isn't possible, how can I cleanup my install?

Thanks to an exhaustive binary search through my mods, I figured out that it was actually Cool Rockets, not Interstellar causing the problem. I replaced the Cool Rockets stock.cfg with the one referenced at http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/68196-24-2-DISCONTINUED-CoolRockets%21-Cryo-and-Launch-Particle-FX?p=1492019&viewfull=1#post1492019, and everything is working smoothly.
