Kerbals are genderless already! No need to add females when there are no males!

Recommended Posts

The Kerbals we have do not have any male or masculine features whatsoever. You all perceive them as male for two primary reasons:

1.) men don't have a lot of extra dealy-bobs sticking out, and

2.) we've been programmed to perceive gender-neutral figures as male

There is no need to add female Kerbals to the game, and you all should just drop this "the existing Kerbals are male" stuff. They aren't male.

If they don't seem gender-neutral enough to you, then petition for changes like hair length variation or something.

Oh please. We don't need more of this.

The Devs have said, they are adding the female kerbal, and it can't be done soon enough to end this fuss.

Please examine the kerbal specimens below:

Not the features:

-Stubble

-Squarish jaw

-Blockish face silhouette

-Male type hairline,

-Loosely male figure

-Clothes which are traditionally male, despite becoming gender neutral in more recent times.

When these features exist on humans, it is hard to argue they are male in appearance.

How kerbal reproduction hypothetically functions is not relevant. The fact is they look male.

Kerbals serve as the human analogues in the game. About 50% of humans in existence are female. It is not fair that they miss out on being represented in the game.

This should not be hard to understand.

There have been threads that pointed out that girls have turned down the game just because there were no girl kerbals.

There were several women complaining about the discrimination on facebook when the space center jobs were revealed to be all taken by male looking kerbals.

Look, guys, it's already been confirmed that female Kerbals are somewhere in the big ol' plan at Squad (by Maxmaps, IIRC). We don't need another argument over it; it's all been done and re-done and overdone and re-done again a hundred times. Most of the people on the forum have heard each and every argument for and against any and all sides of this argument at least three or four times each, and I'm sure Squad has heard the same arguments a thousand times over.

Let's not get into it all over again. In the end nobody wins, because nobody can agree on the current mythos and "correct" interpretation of the game in its current state, much less the future. No one is on the same page about now, and likely never will be; it is truly a waste of time to be speaking of the future.

I've spoken with the higher-ups on this, and they agree that this topic has been done to death many a time -- feel free to read through old argument threads if you want (but tread carefully; they get nasty. You were warned.) but for now let's not revisit old data yet again, okay?
