KSC biome science?

As shown here: http://i.imgur.com/lKWuTu9.png, KSC has acquired a remarkable number of biomes in the past couple updates. My question is: how much unique science can be done in each of these biomes?

Are they surface only, meaning that each experiment can be done in each of them only once, in the "landed at" situation? Or are they full biomes, meaning you can do flying, upper atmosphere, low space, and high space biome-specific readings from them?

Surface only.

Instead of asking simple stuff like this, why not try flying a mission or three and seeing what happens? The forum will still be here in an hour.
