What does a photon see as it leaves the sun?

Although we have very little knowledge regarding traveling at the speed of light, there are some interesting physics involved with traveling near the speed of light. Certain effects, like a shift in color due to the Doppler Effect (red shifted for objects traveling away from us, blue shifted for objects traveling toward us), become more apparent the faster you go. There was an interesting game that explored some of the effects called A Slower Speed of Light. Give it a look if you are interested.

It seems that visible light shifts into the x-ray range at c or close to c, which I am not sure the game fully replicates. As far as I understand these effects drop off quite rapidly when slowing down, though.

This game was posted on the first page, but can surely be posted again :)
