Parts in Editor Appear in Different colors, Transparent, etc.

Recommended Posts

KSP: 0.25 OSX

Problem: Parts are, well, messed up? I don't know how to really describe it. They turn different colors, semi-transparent, etc. Here's some pictures. http://imgur.com/a/m3qWZ Shortly after this happens, the game stops responding. It's also happened to the interior of the VAB, but I didn't manage to get a picture of that.

Mods installed:

Ferram Aerospace Research

Environmental Visual Enhancements

TextureReplacer

Custom Asteroids

KWRocketry

Mechjeb 2

Module Manager 2.5.1

Distant Object

Kittopia Space

On the topic of mods, this has happened in the past with a wide variety of mods. It's been plaguing me for a while, but now it's at the point where it's literally unplayable, as it crashes whenever it happens. I've done multiple clean installs in the past, and it still persists.

Reproduction:

Honestly it seems completely random, most recently it's been happening as I build in the VAB/SPH.

Psychedelic colors, or clowny colors. This issue occurs with stock KSP, and while it's not unique to Macs, it does seem to disproportionately affect them.

Try monitoring your graphics core temperature while playing and reducing graphics settings, especially Texture Quality, Render Quality, and antialiasing.

Ah thank you, it's been bothering me for a while. Is crashing typically linked to it?
