I decided to test my skills as a pilot today.

I decided to put a Kerbal on the mun, not because it is easy (blah blah, generic cliched JFK speech imitation)

I have done so before, but this time, I decided to get some better screenshots.

I'm glad I'm a relative newcomer who didn't have to suffer through these early versions. Having come along in 0.20, about the only thing you mention above that I remember is the Old Mun without the procedural craters. Gawd, what an ugly, depressing, dreadfully boring place. But at least it was good rover country, unlike today.
