Does this no longer work? I\'ve got an SRB, several retrorockets, and some spin rockets and I\'ve verified this line is in every single one, and nothing happens whatsoever when activated post-command module separation.

Nope, it no longer works because of the way the new persistence system handles debris. All disconnected bits are currently counted as debris and CANNOT be controlled by staging.

This will only still work now if the part gets activated in the same stage as its decoupler.

Like what the chutes on SRBs do.

Poo. I was trying to make a rocket with backwards-facing engines that would de-orbit itself after my payload escapes. Can\'t really do it until after the payload leaves...

If you throw a MechJeb onto the stage to be disconnected, it will become a new vessel instead of uncontrollable debris. You can then switch to it from the tracking station and manually fire the thrusters to de-orbit. I\'ve done this on several of my larger craft to keep the skies clear.

Yes,but if you want to be able to control said debris well make sure to add SAS,ASAS and plenty of RCS

ASAS won\'t do anything, SAS will only help you keep it from moving. RCS will help, but it is pretty much broken for roll, so if you want to roll things with it, make them wide and have the RCS thrusters as far as possible from the center of the vessel.

Gimballing engines also help a lot while you are with them on.
