Hey there!

Today i did my first cinematic, and i think it looks good, so i decided to publish it here :)

Sorry if it looks blurry, its the first time i record KSP using bandicam, and bandicam messed up everything :P

I hope you like it!

Cheers! :D

I'm using up my quota of noob question for the day

By skybox, are you referring to the background?

If so, how does one go about doing that?

Yeah, the stars if you will. There's a mod called "Texture Replacer", which, as you might have guessed, allows you to replace certain textures in the game, from the skybox to the suits and faces of kerbals. It's a pretty nifty mod if you ask me.

Here's a screenshot I took when 0.25 was just released, keep in mind that I'm playing on a laptop with a crappy graphics card:

Nice screenshot.

I love taking pics of planets and satellites in ksp, but the background gets all washed out.

I (incorrectly) assumed that texture replacer is only for changing kerbal faces and suits.

I' guessing I could only enable the skybox feature and leave my kerbals untouched?

running about 50 mods with ATM, memory usage varies between 2.5gb to 3gb. Does the texture replacer add much to memory usage?

I'll give it a try soon.

thanks

Thanks, I used that screenshot as my wallpaper for some time. :)

As far as I know, texture replacer just replaces whatever texture you have in the mod's folder for the stock ones, so it shouldn't use up too much RAM if you're just using a custom skybox. You can always get ATM if you haven't already.
