Well, there are some fine musicians hiding in here. That\'s a pleasant surprise. Mr \'Triassic\', I am a fan!

I am, of course, a music person as well. And here is what you could call proof (or evidence against, depending on your tastes...): http://www.soundcloud.com/arthur-2

The first two tracks are very poor quality live rehearsal recordings from my band (me on drums, recorded on an ipod wrapped in a hat, not really for public consumption). The rest are pieces of nonsense I threw together with an old strat copy, an out-of-date Ableton Live and Guitar Rig 2...

My instrument is drums, but I have been known to pick up a guitar (or a bass) when pushed. I had a kazoo, but it broke.

I hope this doesn\'t count as a grave dig. I was going to start my own thread, but I thought keeping things consolidated would be a better approach.

I\'ve been fiddling around, still practicing, on my guitar and have come across a few rhythms/melodies that I enjoy, but I don\'t have any outside input on them.

Here\'s one, and please keep in mind I\'m still basically an absolute beginner, and I had to use a Flip Video recorder. My webcam ends up making my acoustic guitar sound like a synthesized harmonica >_>

I made a few quite noticeable mistakes, but pushed through. I think the overall feel of what I\'ve got is there...

It\'s not done, just a work in progress. I haven\'t even written down the notes yet, granted it\'s pretty simple.

I think it sounds pretty good, but then again I know nothing about playing guitar and/or any other instrument for that matter (As stated before, I sing). But yeah, I have the same problem regarding microphones, as the only one I have is my laptop one, and it\'s all fuzzy and muffled.

On another note - I\'ve learned some basic piano through FL Studio, and I think I\'ve gotten better significantly. I work for a youtube collaborative group, and they\'ve tasked me with filming/music writing/artwork, so here is the full soundtrack for one of our minecraft adventures/machinima. It features all four of our themes in piano, a few orchestral adventuring pieces, and finishes with some metal - boss battle esc songs.

I really want to learn how to use guitars and orchestral more efficiently however. It\'s still a learning experience, but being a soundtrack composer means you have to learn about how every instrument works, and how different instruments work together.

I have to say it\'s really good for a beginner, but I have to say it\'s not worth making a song of yet (unless you are or now a really good singer). I would recommend you to learn some sept chords and to try playing with the single strings a bit more.

@NovaSilisko: Normaly I\'m not a big electrofan, but I like your stuff.

I appreciate the feedback.

I definitely can\'t sing worth a damn lol, and I am still progressively learning more chords. Right now I\'m warming up to the minor pentatonic scales. I\'ve pretty much memorized the boxes and understand how to move them around, just need to keep practicing them until I become more fluent.

By 'Song' I meant a tune to play, and it would by no means mean I could never change/add more to it in the future.

It\'s just nice to make something while your learning and say 'I made this dammit! Look at my progress! Muahahaha!'

Yeah I know that. I\'m currently trying to build up a post-rock/indie band and made some demo recordings with my second guitarist. I try to show it to as many potential singers as possible.

I used to be a bit of an audiophile, but then I kinda gave in to the ease iTunes gave me. No one really sells high quality songs anyhow, and iTunes doesn\'t play them :l

Bandcamp usually has 320kbps mp3 or FLAC files. The Humble Indie Music Bundle is also offering its entire package in FLAC.

Yeah I do use bandcamp. And for a time I used some other program to play FLAC files...but I gave into iTunes ability to play music over WiFi

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
