Complete beginner here, how do I target stuff (like other crafts etc.)?

Hey, so I have been playing this game and installed BDArmory, it's not really mod specific so I was wondering, how do I target other crafts? In many youtube videos I see people targeting crafts, which are encovered in red/purple target box. They seem to do this stuff without going map view, too.

I tried double clicking on the craft I want to target, but it doesn't seem to work. Any help here?

Usually you can double click on the name text above the craft-that will target it. Otherwise you can go to the map view, find the other craft and hit select as target. If neither method works you may be experiencing some kind of fairly major bug (can't help you there)

Well, I was able to target crafts by hitting F4 first, which shows craft names apparently.

Still, with regards to bdarmory, I don't see much use in targeting, missiles still go front without homing into them, but that's probably not a question I can ask in this sub-forum. Thanks anyway.
