How about an IVA editor?

You will need to right click on a cockpit to enter the IVA editor. Then, you will have the preset IVA, but you can click to start from beginning and add instruments into the respective cockpit yourself. Instruments will also have tabs, and will be mod-compatible (you will for example be able to add RPM's and stuff.).

Good idea?

I support this, but only if adding parts affects the weight of the capsule as well as its COM. There should also be parts to increase the capsules monopropellant stores, it charge capacity, and//or its reaction wheel strength. Each part would also have to have a volume stat, and placing parts would be akin to a jigsaw puzzle, for example if you strip out all the instruments from the Mk1 capsule, perhaps there would be enough excess internal volume for two kerbals, (but you would need to add batteries and reaction wheels outside the capsule). On the other hand you coal make you're Mk1 capsule have barely enough room for one kerbal but fill it up with life-support, RPM, etc (with the associated mods) and different stock instruments, radar altimeter, navball, etc. Fully customizable capsules (and probes) would make an excellent addition to the game.

Would be good for a Science Module as well. Insert experiments in to rack space on the inside of the module and have them lock on to outside exposure ports.

Instead of have all sorts pods attached to the outside the craft and often have trouble finding them.

Although I rly like raster prop and use it quite a lot, I think it's way to complex (especially with upgrades) to be included into stock. Don't get me wrong, I like all kind of info displays and I aldo like to do stuff in iva once in a while (although I suck at it :P ). But it would be an absolute overkill for new players. Most of us had to learn what a gravity turn is and were confused when people talked about this magical "delta-v". Also: squad doesn't even like to give us basic infos like twr, delta-v or weight in the vab... how are the odds they will do this kind of thing :/

I support this idea!

But maybe you could start without any external view instruments, and if you add say for example, a navball into the IVA view, then you will be able to see that instrument in the external view. Mostly because barely anyone uses IVA.

Are you serious?! Flying without navball and height readings? That would basically launch the learning courve through the roof. What would be the gain gameplay-wise?
