I was thinking, it would be cool if there was a Kerbal Space Center Visitor Complex. You could generate funds from the admission, use funds to add new attractions, and it would be all around awesome.

EDIT It would probably look something like the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex:

I wouldn't be too surprised if they add something related to this in the future. Since 0.24 they've had a new Kerbal type called "Visitor" (if I recall correctly) that isn't actually used anywhere yet (just like they have a vessel failure reason called "reentry heating" or something similar). There is always the chance that these things were added when they were planning on taking one direction but have since changed plans.

A museum would be nice. When you recover a ship there can be a check box that makes it 'historical' so you can make something like a flag plaque explaining why the ship is important. Then it shows up in the building. The more stuff you put in it though the more expensive it is to rebuild if you destroy it. Then let you tag ongoing flights as historical so that 'replicas' cna be placed. ie. your first satellite, rover, and such.

Great idea! I never even thought about that!

Well If we are going to get a whole new building then it should be useful in some way. Something that 'is there' and you get money from it makes little sense. But if it makes money depending on what you put in it, the more rep that piece gained the better, then its useful and besides, people have mentioned wanting a museum before.

I agree, we definitely need a museum. It should also generate an archive of your mission log, so that you can peruse not only the ship itself, but also what you actually accomplished (or didn't) with it. Even if the physical museum itself isn't doable, we really should have a way to look back through past missions (successes and failures). This would be a fitting function for a 'Visitor Center', I believe.
