I think that it would be a cool if there was a part, "Advanced Position Calculator" or something that when activated during flight would show (on the orbital map) a red line. This red line would be the path that your spaceship would take when accounting for atmospheric hindrance as well as all the normal values like velocity and gravity.

Since a new aerodynamics system is going to happen, I think this is a good thing to implement AFTER that. For now I would recomment the trajectories mod. It's quite precise and helps a lot. I use it for quite number of missions and it shows how a feature like that can enhance the gemeplay and enable additional possibilties such as precise reentries followed by an unproppelled landing from orbit
