So my school is competing in this. My team (named "Kerbal Engineering" [of course] which consists of me ) is currently 306th out of upwards of 4500 teams. (Top 7th percentile, whoo!)

It is also 4th in the MDSH local competition.

I'm not sure when the deadline for the last bridges is, but I've been told that it is 11:59 pm 11/21/2014 (today!) EST.

The 2015 contest begins in early January, check the website for download and resources.

PRIZES:

Each member of the first place team in the high school competition will receive a cash scholarship of $5,000.

Each member of the first place team in the middle school competition will receive a cash scholarship of $1,000.

Each member of the finalist teams will win a notebook computer, generously donated by Dell.
