CIRA VI

Designer: Zekes

Status: COMPLETED

Cost: $3,189,410.00

The largest Zokesian Lifter yet, the Cira-VI has a massive 40 engines in the first stage, and is capable of putting over 800 tonnes of pure cargo into LKO.

Simply stage to fly. I recommend making the launchpad indestructible, or it probably will blow it up on launch.

Here is an edited video of it's launch of 779 tonnes of test fuel to orbit - the 3rd stage still had over 1000 m/s of D/V in it.

Does it break the launch pad like the other launcher? Is there a way to fix that?

It seems to load sometimes, I think if it's higher up from the pad it's less likely to break it. It doesn't break the pad about 50% of the time. You can go to difficulty settings in-game and turn on indestructable buildings to prevent breakage.

Impressive, although that is a modded craft, so it snot AS impressive as stock lifting such insane amounts (i dont thing above 500t stock can be done).

Still, gj, that thing could lift 4 bloody capital ships in orbit (or 8 carriers) :D

Incredible! Looks great and hefts a huge mass. Did you use RT-10 SRBs as Sepratrons?

Yes :D

It would be easy to make a massive lifter, but I felt I had to do it the NASA way - take 5 of your pre-built first stages, strap them together, and have them decouple two at a time - its nerver wracking when they go but it's also satisfying as hell. Plus it's 100% reliable (2 flights, 2 successes).

Of the $3M, how much is recoverable?

HA

Mabye the last stage, if it's deorbited right. I have no hope for saving the several thousand tonne first stage bits. I've tried in the past to make them recoverable, far too much part clipping to hold together when they land.

Not too career friendly - but perfect for sandbox. Total part count?

(Unfortunately can't check for myself in the office...)

849 parts, without payload. And yes, its one real purpose is to launch, say, an entire Laythe base in one go.

Did you make this to try to launch something or just to try to see how much you could get into orbit?

haha, I'm going to put my Laythe Station, Laythe base, rovers, boats, VTOLS, and SSTOs to Laythe on it in one big ship. and also to beat someone else's rocket XD

Also, I'm going to write up a howto fly it very soon.

What did you use to separate the boosters in your first pic. Those flames look too big for sepatrons.

1.25 SRBs XD

Wow man......and I thought my Eve Direct lander was big. Mind if I take this for modifying?

Sure thing have fun with it :D

That's a freakish amount of parts. I accidentally made a lifter that topped 300 parts and launched once, then had to revert because the launch failed laughably and crashed myself to the desktop. It looks amazing though, and could be useful considering the oversize and overweight stuff I tend to build.

Im actually amazed myself how it holds together- each of the four boosters is held on by a horizontal I-beam and a circular decoupled which is clipped inside the booster XD but somehow it is reliable and can not only hold together on ascent but it can detach as well :P
