After many months of inactivity, Project R is being restarted. And it's looking promising.

It was decided one single, massive launcher would put the payload into orbit.

The crew of 7 was hand picked:

Their landing target would be the same as the previous planned base; one of two choices.

Work on the project zoomed by much faster than the last project. Our Kerbs were dedicated.

Tests of the home module's parachutes.

The Transfer stage began to take shape around the same time.

The Science module was built to also resupply via SSTOs- there was originally going to be only one, but symmetry required two on the transfer stage. Here, the crew practices docking;

The last thing to be built were the rovers - designed for two and carrying a reasonable science cargo.

Many, many months of simulator tests were done to ensure the crew knew how to use the equipment.

Here is the single Cira VI that will put the project into orbit- it's over 4 million kerbits.

The launch will be tomorrow, on Zokesia's twitch.tv channel (http://www.twitch.tv/zokesia) at 10:00 PST. The whole project is riding on this launch; a failure would be most disastrous.
