Been away for a while. How is the 64b?

There are reportedly still issues with 64bit in Windows. LethalDose already mentioned that the linux edition is apparently really good, never tried it. It is truly a case by case basis. I, for one, use the 64-bit version without any major issues. There is the occasional crash, but it is usually due to my own experimentation. Usually I just re-launch the game and all is well. I truly do not know why so many people are up in arms about the KSPx64 in Windows. The only annoyance I have is the right-click difficulty. I don't understand how that's not resolved yet, but it is far from game breaking.

Personally I've had absolutely no problems with x64 on Windows 8.1 aside from some mods I like disabling themselves in it.

But I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority there.

Still, you might as well give x64 a shot if you're not planning on using any/many mods. You can always switch back to x86 if it's too unstable.

I haven't had nearly as much crashes on modded 64 bit as I had on modded 32 bit. (Even with ATM at agressive)

I do get random crashes every once in a blue moon, but it's a lot less bad/frustrating than trying to run more than 1 or 2 mods on 32 bit, IMO.

By most reports .25 ended up being a step backwards in terms of Windows 64-bit stability.

The bigger problem now is that several modmakers, fed up of bug reports they believe are down to the stock game, have made their mods refuse to run on Windows 64-bit KSP.

On the Linux side of things, 32- and 64- bit KSP are both equally stable and both fully supported by nearly all mods.

64bit was mostly unplayable for me. Got hung up on the load screens, massive random pauses like bad frame lag, this is on a mostly vanilla build of KSP other than the Alarm clock and Engineer. I dont use part/scenery mods so ATM isn't necessary.

On an i5 Alienware Alpha, performance in 32bit is absolutely fantastic, crashless mostly(way too many things exploded), frame rate stays capped @ 60 while building most of the time, lags just a bit when large things load in though.
