ATTENTION EVERYONE!

I did some testing today - and the version you've all downloaded is flawed The download has been updated, so just re-download it and overwrite the old file and it should be better.

The problem was due to the fact that I fed the fuel straight through the orbital engines - which may save the fuel in the tanks, but it also messes up the COM of the Shutte-tank system after SRB separation. Now, it drains the onboard tanks but keeps the ship flying straight Also, one of the two orange tanks in the hold must be converted to fuel for the engines in order to deorbit. I will fix it soon, but for the moment this hotfix will get you to orbit and back. Unfortunately, I wasted a good 45 minutes figuring it out, so the flight manual will have to wait for tomorrow But i promise, it's coming... but you must remember even I'm struggling to fly this thing

I'm working on a video of it right now - it's actually really light on landing ( i can get it down to 25 m/s on flare)

Where do you even land this thing? The runway is not big enough, and even the slightest slopes should not be too good for that beast.

actually, you'd be surprised - as I was surprised - about how easy it is to land. I worked very hard on the aerodynamics I can slow her down to 25 m/s even, and i've performed a landing on rough terrain.... should be easy to hit the runway, as long as you don't miss, there's no going around!

One final unmanned test of the shuttle, and it worked! Download is good and video is being edited right now. STS-01 and -03 were catastrophic failures, so I reverted the ship to STS-02 status and went from there. It was nominal, which was good.

Here's the landing - touchdown speed was 20.7 m/s and at night, on a 10 degree slope.

I reworked some of the fuel lines, and redid some of the orbital fuel bays..... that will be ready when I update the download soon.

I did some testing of ejection seats, but they're hard to install, and the crew compartment has a good chance of surviving most crashes anyway, tests show.

Some jettesonable cockpits have been added as well, to facilitate crew entry into the vehicle.

tests show that 75% of the internal cockpit seats survive direct impact of the nose of the orbiter with the ground... plus, I had a launch failure yesterday, the ship fell in on itself, and the test pilot walked away without injury despite the fact that the orbiter was completely destroyed .

Thank you Gus, you're the first person to realize how long this took to get wokring (about 20 hours).... but I think it's worth it

Why did you have to post this before I got mine uploaded... Mine is a bit larger just flimsy... I feel like I copied you. It looks like it took more than 20 hours, I couldn't get mine to stop bending at the tank.

Made some cool shots of the Orbiter! also, DOWNLOAD UPDATED ONCE AGAIN! Now, the fuel should flow a bit better in the upper stages.

I know exactly what you've gone through in developing this beast. I've been through it several times myself. Nice job.

But seriously... why no procedural wings? Use that one mod, just that one, and your shuttle will look smooth. Your part count will be a fraction of what it is currently. Your shuttle will look better and perform better.
