RC remotes vs joy stick mod idea

As a hobby I fly R.C. planes and I got a program called "PhoenixRC" at the hobby store. Phonenix is a great program for learning but the games get boring, so what I believe that's possible is to make a mod that uses the Phonenix cord and your R.C. remote to control the crafts in KSP. Since Phonenix already has the drivers capable you might be able to use those exact drivers but jury rig the software. I am not a moder just a guy who like planes and rockets but aren't we all.

There is a plugin somewhere that allows recalibration of console controllers for use with KSP, you might be able to plug into that code path
