This thread is for any headcanons observations about the KSP Universe you may have to share.

For example:

The first Kerbal parachutes were in fact giant umbrellas. But the umbrellas would not handle strain well, so researchers added struts. Then they found that the struts alone could handle the load. Finally, and to their surprise, they discovered the struts didn't even need to be rigid, and the first packable parachute was born.

Not so surprisingly, they also discovered parachutes made awful pants.

Contrary to popular beleif, there actually are N-body physics in the kerbal universe, its just that the kerbals visciously denied their existence so much that they actually changed the laws of physics in their solar system.

It may be worth noting that, while the kerbals can see what landing on Jool does to them, they consider it ascension to a higher form of being. After all, if it's so big and so green, what else would it do to kerbals? This is why they don't object to Danny2462 heading the space program.

The space program is unsure of the difference between swimming pools and fuel tanks. This is why one of the fuel tanks was built from a swimming pool, and why Kerbals don't float in the KSC swimming pool - it's full of rocket fuel.

Kerbals age similarly to frogs, starting as water-dwelling tadpole-like creatures at birth then slowly growing into mostly intelligent, terrestrial bipedal creatures.

Kerbals are long distance relatives to spiders. This is shown in their intelligence and ability to construct massive rockets without fail, similar to the spiders egg sack which can be made up to 20 times the size of the mother spider. They also have evolved out of the excessive amount of body hair a spider has, as it would often lead to the hair causing gaps in the space suits, leading to exposure to a vacuum, followed by death.
