Can This System Play KSP?

Recommended Posts

CPU: Intel i5-4570R CPU @ 2.7GHz (Turbo Boost > 3.1GHz ) 4 Cores

Ram / Memory: 8GB 1600MHz

GPU: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200 ( DxDiag Says Approx. Total Memory 1696MB / 1.6GB )

Pixel Shader Version: 5.0 , Vertex Shader Version 5.0

What Graphic Settings Will This Run At?

Yes, it's a lot better than my old machine, although the GPU is a bit weak.

You don't say what operating system you're using but from those specs I'd guess Win 64-bit (8/8.1?).

I'd suggest you get the demo version of the game but you shouldn't have any problems. When you buy the real thing avoid the Windows 64-bit version for the moment as it's very buggy - either use the Win-32 version or Linux if you have that OS.

Yeah you can run it, your CPU is a slightly less powerful version that I run it on. I would suggest upgrading your GPU and PSU and possibly your cooling for that system pretty soon. i5s tend to run on the warm side and if you go with an Nvidia GPU you will be running HOT.

I Tried On Mac OSX (I have a Bootcamped Mac)

It's Pretty Laggy, I can run Warface On High Maxed Out Settings and btw it is made with Crytek Engine

So Why Not This, oh and also My OS is Windows Ultimate 64Bit

...btw it is made with Crytek Engine...

And how many trillion cubic-kilometers does that engine cope with?

"Why Not This" = "Because Reasons" (they're just different things and you can't compare them). Not many of those reasons are very good ones, to be honest. Top of them would be "because KSP is in alpha and isn't optimised in its use of Unity", followed by "Unity isn't optimised in its use of systems like yours". Expect great improvements during beta, but looking pretty isn't totally what KSP's about.

The "Why not this" is often asked. But it is like asking, why can't my 1991 Ford Fiesta do 200mph? It has 4 wheels and an engine and is lighter then the Veyron, it should go faster.

The reason is, KSP actually calculates far more then the Crytek engine does. The KSP program uses a lot of real physics based calculations that the crytek engine just kind of fudges over.
