It's called Google Now. It depends on your model and android version what button you need to press to activate it. On mine: long press home button. Then say something silly like "How old is Barack Obama?" or "What's the weather today in Timbuktu?", and it'll answer . My primary use: "set alarm in 10 minutes", useful when you need a timer! .
