Center of lift bug ?

Recommended Posts

Check this sticky ( http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92230-Stock-Support-Bug-Reporting-Guide ) for the information you need to provide.

A screenshot of the craft would be appreciated. Does it happen only in the VAB, or the SPH too? Does it happen with all wings? Sandbox and career? Does it depend on the angle or position of the wings? With what kind of craft does this occur?

Simple carft just started career mode and i added some winglet. My rocket is like 3 small tanks with a lv-30 engine and of course the capsuyle and a parachute. I did not try in the space plane hangar because i dont have the parts yet to create a space plance or just a simple plane. I just started career mode. This is from a fresh install on steeam.

That's normal. The craft has no lift rating since there are no wings attached to the craft, thus there can be no center of lift. It's a result of the simplified aerodynamic model that KSP uses, but it's not a bug in and of itself.

The blue ball will also drop sometimes even if you have wings. That's because the VAB assumes the wind blows down the length of the rocket (from the top down). Since the wings don't generate lift until they have some angle of attach, the lift bubble will sometimes end up at the floor.

Cheers,
