Glitching when entering vehicle assembly plant

I am a new KSP user, thanks very much to my son for "loaning" me his copy of KSP under the Steam Family Share. I'll probably buy the game if all goes well and I enjoy my experience.

I am experiencing a video glitch when entering the vehicle assembly plant, I see all kinds of weird shapes on the left. Screenshot:

Is this a known glitch as the assembly plant creates itself? It is only momentary but is really annoying. This is on OSX Yosemite via Steam on a 4GB iMac.

I've seen this, and as far as I know it's merely a visual glitch as the interface loads up. I suppose they could have made sure to hide it, but it's nothing serious. It's probably just a slight oversight in the newly-redesigned editor scenes.

Yeah, I get this each time I enter the VAB as well.
