A lot of these photos are really old, they were released in January. However I do see some new ones, mostly from the rover itself, cool!

Why is it the surface in those pictures looks drastically browner? Different camera settings?

Probably a combination of camera settings and landing site. Chang'e is in one of the maria while all apollo missions landed in either the highlands or a maria border at best IIRC.
