Land Jitterbug on the Island in under 3:00 minutes

Recommended Posts

Sector Seven Space Laboratories Aerospace Division Challenges you to land Jitterbug on the Island in under 3:00 minutes on all wheels and undamaged. Seeing is believing in this case so post a screenshot!

I haven't done it yet but I believe it can be done. I challenged myself to this and I am having so much fun at this Challenge I am posting it now, also after flying Jitterbug you will see where Jitterbug got it's name. This Craft leaves the Runway at 200 m/s, at these speeds it's all fun!

First of all, you're using a version of KSP that's so old it doesn't even use parts that the modern version has. So to 90% of people this challenge isn't possible or takes a huge hassle of re-downloading and using 23.5

Second, you've not proven it's even possible. All your time trials are above 3 minutes. Unless you can do it, I suggest changing the time limit.

Also, I see that you havve a .90 version of the craft, but no pictures at all despite the fact that the Mk3 parts you're using are completely different now.

Could you clarify/ rectify all this?

Zekes, first of all thank you for checking out some of my work, I just updated the postings with the latest vo.90.0.705 Beta Than Ever version. Landing in under 3 mins is more of a challenge to myself and I did mentioned that I wasn't sure if it could be done, this is the challenge. You are correct that I should have set the bar then posted the challenge I will do this in the future but for now I do believe you will see the challenge met by someone that's been playing longer than I have and better at this than myself. Thanks again for your input I love good criticism.

The craft still cannot be loaded in completely stock 0.90. That cockpit, the fuselage, and the wings are no longer in the game.

edit: Actually, the wings are present in some form, but they still look very different.

I performed an update and this was still available, would I have to purchase the new version to be compatible with the latest version?

Let me guess, OP is using a pirated version of the game. So he updates simply by overwriting the game folder, which doesn't delete the old parts, that's why he is able to use them in his "0.90" version.

No.. I used the official Squad patcher and the old Mk3 parts were still there, alongside the new Mk3 parts.

However it's a bit suspicious.

My apologies for this confusion I will update Jitterbug without the older parts soon!

It's a cute little plane; I found it quite easy to control. I don't know whether the old and new versions are truly comparable. I've tried a few times and my best attempt is 2:37, but none were over 3 minutes, so I'm suspecting that the new version is a bit peppier than the old one. :)

The speeds are nearly the same and both can be landed to a complete stop in under 3:00 minutes with out damage
