Ballistic capture could lead to easier travel to Mars

It doesn't work in KSP because of the n-body requirement. If it did, you might well be disappointed at the actual performance. The paper is rather accessible, if you don't believe me.

Thanks for the answer, wasn't trying to be dim, just trying to get back into KPS after a year.

Even if you don't get a true capture, the required dV at Pe can be tiny (< 1-2 m/s).
