Having a problem here.

Recommended Posts

Am on my way to deploy an all-in-one satellite in orbit around Minmus (lander, orbiter, the whole works), and sometimes everything just locks up. This is my second try since it did that the first time too. The staging tree on the left is purple but it's not that because even it does not unlock when I press alt-L. Also, engines do not work even though I press Z and the throttle goes up. I can view the map, and focus everything, add maneuver, delete them, but everything in stage mode is just...locked.

Is there something I'm missing here?

It could be a variety of things. It would help us pinpoint your problem if you could upload a picture of your craft in flight.

Press F1 to take a screenshot. KSP will place it in KSP\screenshots. Then you can upload to somewhere like imgur.com (which doesn't require a login) and paste the link here.

Cheers,

Nevermind, I figured it out. Turns out that never happened with Minmus Explorer I because I had single solar panels on that one and I forgot to unfold these, oops. All good now. I'm going to abort and start again.

Successful (TIGHT) orbit around Minmus...I totally didn't take into account the electricity levels...ugh...I wonder if a more prominent indicator would stop things like that from hapenning. like a battery gauge on the navball somewhere.

You see the fuel-tank icon in the upper-right corner of the screen? That's the Resources panel. You can hover your mouse over it to pop the panel open momentarily, or click on it to keep the panel open.

Reminding you to open your solar panels is, unfortunately, beyond its capabilities. Assigning them to an action group in the VAB is generally a good idea.
