bought the game last year during the christmas sale on steam, ran just fine

recently tried playing it again and it keeps on crashing

only change to my pc is 560ti out, 970 in.

If i run the game through steam, the game freezes on loading into a saved game, if i launch it normally, it will loade into the game, but just randomly crash after a few mins.

pc setup:

i5 2500k

gtx 970

8gig ram

not sure whats causing this, i added the crash-folder ksp generated in the dropbox link

ty in advance :)

First things first, you've got several mods throwing exceptions -- either update them (they seem to be out of date) and let me know so I can move this thread to a more appropriate section, or clear out your GameData folder so it contains only the Squad and NasaMission folders. Once you've done either of these things, try it again. If it continues to crash, please post the new logs. :)

In addition, the x64 build of the game is extremely unstable at present, so I must recommend you run the x32 build of the game rather than the x64.

oh, i tought i deleted all the mods, sorry for that. feel free to move the thread :).

i'll start by clearing all those mods out

- - - Updated - - -

cleared the mods out, (were old versions of mechjeb/kerbal alarm clock)

game still freezes stops working, but doesn't crash now.

it freezes right before i actually get ingame; i can see the loading thingie on the bottom right, some of the ui elements on the top, and sometimes bill's message appears. then it just stops working.

but since it doesn,'t crash now, i don't get a crash report :x

also notice with an overlay from my graphics card that my fps drops to anywhere between 0 and 15

You should be able to grab the output_log.txt from the KSP_Data folder even if it doesn't actually crash. It might be worth seeing if disabling your graphics card's overlay entirely helps with the freezing. I know having any overlay other than Steam's own overlay present tends to cause a whole bunch of issues for me, so it might be a similar thing.

Try this:

Right click on the game on the steam library

Click Properties

Click on the local files tab (I think that's it)

Then click "Verify integrity of game cache" (Something like that)

Wait for it to finish, and try again.

If that doesnt work:

Right click the game in the steam library

Properties

Click local files and delete local game content.

Reinstall and try that.

If that STILL doesnt work, tell me on this thread.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
