Aircraft failure analysis

All I do to overcome "difficulty" (:rolleyes:) is stick the moving canyards on the front, and I don't even have to do that every time. My workhorse jet for career mode takes off at 80m/s, can stick a landing at 110m/s, and is neither over-powered or light-weight (+10t). I can roll 90 degrees and bank hard going 1400m/s @ 21,000m - highly maneuverable.

I'm not sitting here trying to argue that it's the most efficient placement strategy - I'm telling you it's a valid placement strategy that addresses a specific set of priorities (no tailstrikes, and easy landings on two back wheels) for a small to negligible trade-off in takeoff speed. There's nothing "idiotic" or "wrong" about that compromise and I don't have to monkey with tailstrike guards or hardpoints, or goofy goddamn gear-stilts. Y'all are acting like textbook design is the only way to build a highly-functional jet -- I'm arguing that once basic aerodynamics are achieved, high-function depends on how well you've designed to your priorities.

Anything under 40tons to me is light weight.

1-40t light

41-99t medium

100-200t heavy

201+ super heavy.

And yes I have built them that big.
