My joystick has a hat switch as well as 3 axes of rotation, so if I could figure out how to map the hat, I'd love it.

(Doh, I could've just used docking mode...)

Also, I can't calibrate the damn thing, gotta look at that tutorial.

EDIT:

Wooooaah, that's a nice joystick. :0.0:

I use this for all takeoffs and flight control. Use the mouse and keyboard for everything else.

Thrustmaster 2960703 T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick for $55 and free shipping from of Amazon you cant go wrong. 12 buttons you can program and 5 Axles.

I've actually got one of those myself. I have no idea how to map it, though - I get the axes into a sane configuration, and can't figure out anything else. Do you mind posting your button map?

There is more buttons that you can set for action groups, throttle cutoff and brakes if needed.

I just figured this out myself, after plugging in a gamepad and finding that the D-pad (which Windows calibration tool calls a hat switch) maps to an axis - the true hat switch on my Sidewinder Precision 2 maps to axes as well. This is after I'd purchased a Logitech replacement because I thought there was a compatibility issue causing it. Try mapping it to an axis rather than a button control.
