Fraps has a trial, and is usually the most recommended one.

I don\'t think that people record after playing, at least not in Lets Plays.

By the way, buying fraps is worth it. Its gets rid of the watermark and allows you to compress your videos and screenshots so they don\'t eat up so much HDD space.
