Game Crashes Before starting

Recommended Posts

I Click on the KSP icon on my computer, and it crashes, stating

"KSP.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)

in module KSP.exe at 001b:00000000." (stolen from error message).

I have uninstalled KSP and re-installed removing all files in between and it still happens.

Please post the entire log files so we can have a proper look at what's going on. The specific error message is, unfortunately, not a great deal of help if we don't know precisely where the error is occurring. :)

Extensions: GL_WIN_swap_hint GL_EXT_bgra GL_EXT_paletted_texture
Crash!!!

What the heck?

It looks like your game is failing to initialize with DirectX, both 9 and 11 (I don't even know why its attempting DX11), failing, and then getting a single-threaded, 32 bit OpenGL runninng. That is then somehow failing and crashing.

I have absolutely zero idea what is going on and I'd suggest reinstalling. If the issue persists, I might suggest looking at your graphics card. I don't know much about whats going on but that might be a place to start.

hmm, I have tried a re-install two or three times with no avail, and I have used KSP with the current Graphics card (a EVGA GeForce 8400) Ill check if its a bad driver,

Apologies again, It appears that my graphics driver was out of date and after a quick Update KSP seems to work fine. Sorry for the inconvenience.
