(question) rc airplane controller to ksp controller

Recommended Posts

if your are looking at this you know the airplane flight simulators? some of then came with controllers that you could just stick into your usb port instead of them having a antenna.

my question is would it be possible to connect that controller and use it to pilot planes and such In ksp (if possible i would appreciate a walkthrough of how to do so)

right now I'm at school and i was just wondering if you could.

if needed i could also provide a picture of the controller or the model, but after i get home i can do so.

I have a Microsoft Sidewinder joystick that plugged right in, and works great. now if you're talking about an actual radio control unit, you would need some sort of USB receiver that acts as a joystick input.

it is a radio control unit that instead of having a antenna it has about 2.5 feet of cord and on the end of that cord it has a usb plug that i can plug into my computer.

Maybe, but it depends on it's protocol or if it is key bindable. If it is XInput it should work, if it can be bound to keys it should work.

Plug it in and go to the key bindings setting. Try to pair the axes and see if it works. One thing to be aware of is the switches on your controller. Without knowing any specific details, it's hard to know which position corresponds to "1" and which corresponds to "0". You might have to play around with them to figure out which way they work because you will need to switch them on and off one at a time to bind them.

Which controller are you using? I also fly model aircraft and it would be really cool to fly spaceplanes with a real controller like that.

ummmmmmmmm not sure.

its one of the trainer controllers you sometimes get when you get the nicer simulators

when i get back to my house ill look at and find the model name for you
