Game sometimes crash when reverting to spaceplane hangar

Recommended Posts

So I was testing my rover and flipped over, which caused the kerbal in the seat to not respond.

Because I couldn't do anything I reverted back to the spaceplane hangar and the game crashed.

Version: 0.90.0 Beta Windows 32bit

Interesting. A few reverts seem to be fine, but whatever happened with that last revert broke something. Nothing too odd in any of the log files. Can you try disabling the NVIDIA Experience application? It's been known to cause one or two odd issues with KSP.

It's probably simplest to just kill the process running it; it'll start up again next time you reboot, so we're not doing anything permanent. Open up Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc and go to the Processes tab. The NVIDIA Experience processes (there are two of them) should be listed with their descriptions of "NVIDIA Geforce Experience Backend" and "NVIDIA Streaming Service" -- the former should have a filename of "nvbackend.exe", from memory, but it's probably easier to look through the description column.

Right click on both of those and choose End Process, then try running KSP and see if you can recreate the problem.

Hmm. Alright, killing processes doesn't look like it's going to get us anywhere. We're going to need to fiddle with the settings just a tad. Upon a reboot, the processes should start again, so if you've not already done that by this time, please do. Open up the NVIDIA Experience control panel -- you should be able to do this from its taskbar icon. Look for KSP in its list of games, and disable Shadowplay, as shown here: http://international.download.nvidia.com/geforce-com/international/images/geforce-gtx-780/geforce-experience-shadowplay-preview-1.png (click the switch at the left of the smaller dialog box)

If you mean I should only disable Shadowplay then I have this already disabled.

That is because I run in Nvidia Surround but at 1920x1080, and it is not possible to use Shadowplay when using Surround.
