Load craft, and save craft not working

Recommended Posts

So, I'm not positive that I should place this in the "modded" KSP forum or not, since the problem started, I've uninstalled and re-installed fresh, but I get the same issue. So I'm posting here.

This appears to be occurring since I've installed version .90. I'm pretty new to the game, and played just once on v.90 before I tried installing my first mod ever. I don't know if this problem occured before the mod installation or not. But my mod installation crashed the game, so I got rid of it, THEN I noticed this problem.

Since then, as I mentioned, I've completely uninstalled from Steam, and manually deleted my KSP folder. Then I reinstalled from Steam, yet the problem persists.

Essentially when I am building a craft and I click the save button, it appears that nothing happens. No dialogue comes up or anything. Also, if I click the load button nothing happens. Again no dialogue. I can launch no problems, rename the craft just fine, and the "new" button successfully gets rid of my current craft and starts over new. Any ideas out there as to why the save and load buttons aren't working? It also seems if I return to the space center, and then come BACK to building a craft, about 50% of the time the craft I left is still there, and the other 50% it's simply disappeared. Needless to say, kinda frustrating! :)

Thanks for any help you can offer!

There is normally no dialog upon Saving a craft.

However, for Loading a craft, if the dialog fails to appear, it's likely you have a corrupted craft file, or (possibly) the VAB or SPH folders are missing from your save. Get to your Steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program directory (in a default installation, it'll be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and open up the Saves folder. Open up the folder corresponding to the save you're using and check the Ships subdirectory. Ensure that both SPH and VAB folders exist; if one or both do not, please create them.

If they both exist, check both of them for corrupted craft files. Typically, corrupted files will have a significantly smaller file size than normal craft files, and you can open them in a text editor (like Notepad) to check them. If the file ends abruptly, it's corrupt and you'll need to delete it to restore the functionality of the Load dialog.
