Game Start up

When ever i try to launch KSP it goes through the loading screen and then turns black and then the icon in the bottom right appears, then it freezes and crashes, this happens every time i try to start. i have deleted my save state in the library but that didn't fix it, someone please help!

When i launch KSP it goes through the loading screen then comes to the black screen with the logo in the Right lower corner and then freezes and crashes, i've tried deleting the save state (i'm on a mac) but that didnt fix it. please help

Install Active Texture Management, or remove Environmental Visual Enhancements.

Also, moved to Support (modded installs) as KSP typically doesn't have memory crashes in unmodded KSP, though it seems to be happening more with Yosemite.

You don't. 32-bit processes like KSP are limited to about 3.5 GB of RAM. They'll allocate more as needed, but won't work correctly after that limit, so you'll have to fit KSP within that limit, assuming you even have that much available.

Also, don't trust the Activity Monitor report of how much RAM you're using.
